Anyone who plays that abortion of a game deserves whatever assraping activision wearing blizzards severed face stapled across his inflicts on the player
That said does content clearing require full upgrades or is that just something in there to monetize autism? I play occasionally genshin impact and fully upgrading 5* characters requires tons of money but playing through all the story content works perfectly well with just what you get for free.
My observation it's that: PvP exists specifically for the purpose of giving you incentive to whale. PvE scales rewards rather than difficulty. Not paying in gets the spigot cut off.
Yea. Pvp is sadly pay2win. There is like 1 f2p guy on pvp leaderboard for now but it won't last.
Main quest and level to 60 and i think mostly all content requires no money. Doing content on hell difficulty or anything with PvE leaderboards requires payment.
I just finished messing with a patch on a Jurassic Park mobile gacha game and really all this particular patch does is intercept the buying mechanic and make it all free. While I'm sure Blizzard will be more difficult than random mobile game, hackers always find a way.
I've not even necessarily been pro-piracy as an adult, but one key point to feeling like I should buy my entertainment legit is that it's offered at a fair cost. If this were a one time purchase, I'd say just buy the damn game. I have no shame at cheating these predatory slot machine games.
Blizzard was dead to me the moment they put real money auction house in Diablo 3. I was a huge Diablo 2 fan but after that I never touched any new Blizzard games and hopefully I never will. Luckily they are making it rather easy.

I've been doing hell content without buying anything maybe cause I got good rng for once in my life
Diablo is all about making incremental upgrades and shelling out real money gives you more progression than being F2P.
Also, at least one of the main storyline quests 'rewards' you with an MTX discount. "Thank you for saving us, hero! Now spend money!"
I haven't paid shit and beat the story mode and I'm at paragon 4 and haven't hit any sort of wall
Blizzard died decades ago when all the real talent left. They've been coasting on the name ever since. Just like Bioware, just like DICE, etc.

I love the existence of Diablo Immortal and games like it and I hope they fleece these retards for as much money as possible
(I would never play a game like it if you paid me, but that's not the point)
