I picked up a safety razor from Western Razor Company. Made in the US, uses regular double-edged razor blades that can be bought for pennies apiece. It doesn't have the nice lubrication strip that my Mach 5 had, but I'm not sure if that really did anything anyway.
My shave quality has drastically improved since I switched to an old-school safety razor. I don't get razor bumps on my neck any more, and the shave is closer. Being cheaper is a bonus.
Personally, I'm partial to Feather razor blades from Japan, but to each their own. They're more expensive than some other brands, but they're still way cheaper than disposable, plastic razors or cartridges..
That's nice.
But I'm done with them - forever. No more blades, no more shaving cream, NONE of their related products!

The old school shaving creams you lather and apply with a brush give you a much smoother shaving experience than you'll get with the spray foam too.
The modern shaving market is a complete scam. Safety razors are all you need.
