I used to frequent twoplustwo.com which is a poker forum with a bunch of sub-forums about all sorts of topics. Most sub-forums created an off-topic/random shit thread that was stickied at the top, and it proved very successful and generated many interesting discussions.
We have the same basic setup here and I think it's worth trying out. Sometimes we all have things we'd like to share or talk about but it isn't worthy of its own thread.
Thoughts?
I so much prefer the old topical style forums that used to be the thing prior to Reddits dominance. Wish those would become a thing again. There's a few I go on occasionally that are still around. The Reddit style places are just too big
The formatting is just superior to reddit clones for any amount of text based discussion. Reddit style is only better if image posts are the majority of submissions
Lol I loathe the old forum style. O take me back to the days where I had to click through dozens of pages of lame injokes, mod warnings, and smug clapbacks just to get to the info I wanted.
Reddit style with a small community and strong sense of identity is the best.
