He separately worked on Clinton's behalf to peddle that unverified tip to the press, generating some coverage.

Some coverage?? Lol and Wilt Chamberlain had some sex.

The implication is that most of the coverage did not originate from Clinton’s lies but was rather the organic (and blameless) result of biased circular reporting… which was directly instigated by Clinton’s lies.
