And actually Russia claimed very lofty things about their interventions in Syria and Libya.
They also for example made a propaganda feature film about the ridicalously evil (even their flag motif is a skull in a cartoonish and probably self aware "are we baddies") Wagner mercenary group about how they save oppressed Africans or something.

See, you didn't even notice (Turkey defeated Wagner in Libya at Tripoli).
Nope, I didn't. But it wasn't the Ruskies who turned the country into the basketcase that it is today, except for their refusal to veto the UN Security Council resolution supposedly about protecting 'human rights' (= Western countries' interests).
