I’ve worked with some Mormons. I have been invited for dinner a few times only for a few more members of their church to “happen to show up” and try to convert me
It may be annoying, but that is probably one of the things that keeps their church vibrant. If you spend two years of your life trying to convert strangers, that's a whole lot of sunk cost into your religion, and it's also very likely that it will have a great effect on how persuasive you find your religion.
