Honestly I didn't know this until now, and that's after seeing him in House for a year and a half, and a few other things.
However it does now mean in retrospect "Harold and Kumar Get the Munches/Go to White Castle" had at one point in the same scenes/car:
Kal Penn, Neil Patrick Harris, and John Yo. The first being the topical gay Indian, the second being former Doogie Howser child actor and now gay "icon" who notably played straight womaniser Barney Stinson in 'How I Met Your Mother', and the third having been cast as Sulu in the woke reboots for Star Trek, who in their efforts to truly blur the lines between fiction and reality decided to make Sulu gay in the second reboot movie.
Despite having a daughter in the Prime timeline.
Who they still then included along with Sulu's husband in the second movie.
John Cho, I thought he was good as Sulu. As far as the gay Sulu thing goes, IIRC even George Takei was not happy with the change and thought it was disrespectful to the character. (What a shocking thing--someone who realizes there's a difference between actor and character.) Also, IIRC, gay Sulu was only indiciated in one scene and not particularly remarked on.

My issue with how reboot Sulu was portrayed really is a general one of the reboots: Most characters were caricatures. Bad ones at that. The reverse Khan scene for example was both shit and poorly done. Too many characters made quips about things that might do that were literally just lifted references to the original movies, like when Sulu took the con at one point.
Chekov self destructs and takes the Klingon ships with him
Sulu chose not to attempt the rescue but ended up suffering a mutiny because of it.
Scotty tricks the test with math by using theoretical proofs that the test accepted despite said proofs being impossible in practice. When later debriefed by his instructors it turns out the proofs are Scotty's own work and he gets reassigned from Command to Engineering because of it, which was what he wanted all along as he only went into Command to appease his father.
Kirk, being the living embodiment of arrogance and ego reprogrammed the test. But unlike the reboot movies where he simply reprograms it to allow him to fire upon and destroy the hostiles present, TOS Kirk reprograms his own test identity, hails the 3 Klingon ships, and plays the "I'm Zapp Brannigan James Tiberius Kirk, BTFO" card which is precisely the sort of thing he then does in later life when he's an actual captain of a ship. At the time of the test he was still a cadet and yet already that sure of himself.

Also Kirk's solution to the Kobayashi Maru test was absolutely retarded. There's a book of the same name that deals with how TOS Kirk, Chekov, Scotty, and Sulu dealt with the test.
