Actually, it makes sense from a business standpoint. Women who have abortions don't waste company time and resources for their pregnancy, their maternity leave, their 'return' catchup, their post-leave shitty performance, and eventual quitting or sabotaging the company for separating them from their offspring (usually through lack-luster performance and bitching instead of working). Their insurance rates are usually lower and their productivity is usually higher because they want to succeed in a field they believe keeps them down. Either that or they are just weeded out quickly by claiming sexism or some other bullshit because they don't want to work hard.
It is technically illegal that's why paternity leave is so important as well. For a strong mentally healthy baby to develop early on it must bond with both parents. For to really develop it must bond with an entire family humans are social by nature and large families are important.

I've said this a few times lately but I'd like to know if it makes sense.
Maternity leave is technically illegal, because it's sex discrimination, correct? The laws obviously don't work that way, but it would be if they did.

Where I work lets either parent take time off.
