He uses a list of real world historical examples that are tangible to understand more complex 'happenings' in economic systems.

It's quite readable. He's just doesn't pull any punches to show in excruciating detail why all Leftists are economically illiterate.
The biggest takeaway is that if someone ever says, "I'm a Socialist" you will basically be able to have memorized at least 10 reasons why they're wrong about the next policy they are about to explain to you.

That's not Sowell. He just uses the same narrator for almost all of his books. Except Black Rednecks and White Liberals, who was clearly read by an upper-middle class black man in his late 30's.
