I used to say in the early 2000s that gays needed their own channel when I started hearing demands for more gays on tv. I figured for such a small percentage they would never be content until they had their own network. I guess I was naive.
Just looking at pure numbers I am not sure why a company built on being a family company would spend an inordinate amount of time trying to pander to lgbt. It’s a big market. Lgbt groups have the money to make their own content. Although there are lots of black channels but you still have ones that keep insisting on representation. So I guess some people will never be satisfied

Having BET hasn't stopped black people from being overrepresented in television. Just saying.
I know. I pointed that out at the end. So even with channels that directly pander to these groups they still aren’t satisfied
