Have to admit I didn't catch it untill very late in the book but it's a very interesting repudiation of communist rebellions. The "here's the lies and propaganda the protagonists do" and it's written as normal is a very effective way of getting people to recognise it in real life. The exchanges with reporters could be verbatim for real life exchanges.
