all the cameras in the subway station were not operating.

I want for this to be false so badly.
I double-checked, and as of yet, it sounds like they might have been partially functional. https://archive.ph/kPUVV (NY Daily News)

NYPD officials say the cameras at the turnstiles and on the platforms at the 25th, 36th and 45th St. stations were not transmitting live feeds during the time of the incident, although it’s possible they were recording and investigators could still retrieve footage.

If all the cameras stopped working its either a false flag, urban decay, or both.
