I haven't read much in the past few years but I do see that if you stay away from the obvious "gender bender", "shouji/shounen ai", "ecchi", etc, there are genres that are still getting love to this day.
Honestly finding the really good stuff in a sea of trash and astroturfed support in manga isn't much different from finding it in books, cinema, and games. As in, takes longer than it should in a free world.
Manga is full of MANLY MEN and also full of moeblob girls.
Used to be. Not so much anymore. Now the only "masculine" men you can find promote slave ownership.
Depends what you read. The nuMale and all-powerful woman are what gets promoted, especially in the west, by the obvious culprits.
Got any suggestions for good new stuff that isn't gender swapped, or promoting slavery?

My Hero Academia is really good. Not that far into it, but Attack on Titan has been really good so far (finished the first 3 volumes.)
