CA Pedes help me out. Does Hollywood know they are in decline worldwide and are just living their last days up while they still can? Or do they honestly sense that nothing is wrong?
Big "shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic" energy because it's how they make money and they will squeeze every dime they can out of the market until they physically can't anymore.
It's a very bloated thing. It's been this way for ages, and it's been declared dead several times. Every person in the area thinks theor career isn't safe, and then does what they can to survive. In a way they're right, the previous guys get pushed out by the new kids who can do spiffy stuff like stream their movie. Spielberg was called a brat for making the blockbuster instead of something like the godfather.
Will Hollywood last? They always find a way to trick or riggle their way into the new thing and pretend they always liked it. But, we don't need those studios for videogames. I think a lot of the "cinematic presentation" shown in the 00's was that attempt at riggle. We can see those videogame companies going through similar problems as Hollywood.
Most of the low level guys like cameramen, and wire pullers don't care, they have union jobs. The movie doesn't matter, just doing your job does. Most of them seem to be staying.
So no, they have no idea.
they thought they could just take over youtube
then rumble and ticktok popped up
