I think most of Trump's time around here I'd say gas was more like $2.79 than the sub-$2. I complain about the prices, but the reality is if I'm driving 200mi a week, we're talking less than $15 a week more out of my pocket. I notice the higher food prices more than that. I made the argument years ago that if $15 is the difference between living and starvation, you're probably doing something wrong. Of course that always gets whining and complaining because I'm supposedly rich, blah, blah... Except I find most of these whiners have no problem dropping $100 a few nights a week at a bar, or the daily expensive Starbucks, etc. then continue to bitch about their paycheck-to-paycheck living.
That's not to say I don't want it cheaper. There's a big trickle down effect from logistics costs that will raise the prices of almost everything. Then just the reason that prices are up, because of stupid fucking politicians doing stupid things.
Watch the diesel prices. That's going to affect your life a lot more than the price of gas. Diesel goes up, everything else does too.
