We're not quite at the levels of Anti-German sentiment post-WW2 yet though. I learned yesterday that in certain countries, Germans had to wear white stars on their clothes, were severely limited in their mobility and were a constant target of harassment, violence and murder.
Well, that's pretty far away. Somewhere between 40,000 and 150,000 Germans were killed post-war due to reprisals. It's not an accident that Germans were being forced to wear stars and face open discrimination. The people conquered by Germany during the war had Germans forced into their communities that the locals were intentionally displaced from. This occupying Germans treated all the people they subjugated badly, which is why these reprisal measures were put into place.
It's not a surprise that people who survived the Holocaust in occupied countries would go on to take reprisal attacks against ethnic Germans as a result of the actions done against them.
What I'm talking about is the level of discrimination during the war in America.
