Military people can spot the signs better because we've all seen it.
Let me tell you about my boot camp pass in review. 1 July 1994, Great Lakes. 3 freaking hours long.
I wanted to die halfway through. My shoulders were killing me from extended time at parade rest. We only lost 3 to passing out, one felt it coming and took a knee.
Honestly, for a Battalion or Company sized unit, losing only 3 people is probably not too bad for 3 hours in July.
Holy fuck the Corframs though. It's like they magnify the heat on your feet from the sun. At some point, it's just a situation where you can't pass out because you're in too much pain.
There is that point where you've been at parade rest for so long your nerves get pinched and start to go numb.
