Did marx at one point write about "take over and make mockeries of entertainment"?
It's becoming such a common thing it's on par with "attack cops" in the commie play book. What's the ideological driver of taking over and destroying entertainment franchises?
Yes.
The message the ideologues are trying to force down the audience's throat is more important than anything else. This includes how good the show is.
Being seen spreading the message [virtue signaling] is a close second in terms of importance and is also supercedes how good the show is.
They want an existing audience so the message reaches more people in addition to not having do put in the work to build an audience through their creations.
As a result of the complete lack of creativity from the ideologues the shows end up as hot garbage with lots of hype often in the form of selectively edited advertisements that don't show off the more woke parts.
Any and all criticism will be deflected under various "-isms" and possibly even pre-empted as has been the case for quite a few reboots over the last few years like Ghostblusters and others were [white] men were told the film was not for them so they shouldn't bother watching it, astroturfing any negativity when it happens. [Not 'if', 'when'].
When precisely this happens it results in a handwashing by those in charge that any and all faults are "insincere" and only made by "trolls, incels, alt-right, gg, etc" boogiemen with no accountability placed on those who are ultimately at fault for the reboot doing so badly.
With no accountability placed on those in charge they repeat the process going through franchise after franchise despite every single production being catastrophic for the franchise and financial failures because again as mentioned back in the first point; "the message the ideologues are trying to force down the audience's throat is more important than anything else".
Because of this "go woke, get broke" often means fuck all to these parasites because when they have no accountability it doesn't matter how many franchises they ruin when they can just do it all again.
This comment nails it 100%.
I would only add that this is also to saturate the next generation with all of this nonsense. When a generation grows up with nonstop propaganda, it's all they know; it becomes the norm.
