I’m about a third of the way in and I’m liking it so far. I’m wondering if he decided to take the Roman Empire and put it on a galactic scale. I decided to read it because I have no faith that Apple will do a good job with it.
Is the whole trilogy worth reading?
There are more? I thought it was just 3
There ended up being 6 or 7, but the rest after the original trilogy were written after Asimov's robot obsession completely took over his consciousness, so it's not only hyperfocused on the robot characters more than the humans, but also retcons some elements of the original trilogy to give the robots credit for things that he'd originally attributed to human characters.
Needless to say, just stick to the first three.
Cool. Thanks!
Sounds like a positive to me.
It was, but Asimov then cranked out two more sequels and two prequels/world-builders I think
The trilogy is very good imo. Foundation's Edge was decent but I thought Foundation and Earth was lacking. I never read the prequel-type ones
