They've tried that in a couple provinces up here in Canada too. All they achieved in Saskatchewan was to fill up hospital beds with alcoholics in withdrawal.
You think if they were trying to stop people going out for liquor runs, they would say "you must have the vaxpass if you're not buying food" or "you must have the vaxpass if your alcohol purchase total is more than your food purchase".
It would still be fucking stupid, but then they could at least say they're trying to encourage "essential purchases" only.

Maybe. I think they're deliberately trying to provoke a violent reaction from somebody, which would then be used to smear all unvaccinated people.
