I've been referencing the International Standard Version recently. Although King James is probably a better translation (and like the other guy said it's brilliant a work of art), I just find ISV easier to read.

That’s one of the things I really like about the King James Version is that I don’t always understand the words being used. It forces me to look things up, which tends to make what I’ve read stick around longer.
