The amusing thing is, either this works and Reddit gets screwed over, or it doesn't and the mods (who do Reddit's job for free) get screwed over. Win-win :D
Reddit won't pay them. They can't. That would make them employees and beneficiaries to all sorts of things according to their country of residence. In my country, an employee is entitled to two extra months of salary per year and a month of paid vacations, among many other things. It's untenable. If worse came, reddit would have to ban them all and get ddos and maligned, but eventually things would go back to normal.
