Outward appearance is often a reflection of your character.
Counter culture groups like Punks, Goths, etc. want to be different. Which means they stick to themselves. You can't be different if you force everyone else to be like you. They are more individualistic and don't have a beef with outsiders. They also have a whole culture with music, art, clothes and so on.
Antifa on the other hand are the opposite. They DEMAND that everyone be like them. They are fueled by hatred and the desire to oppress others. Beyond that they have nothing. That's literally all they are: a fascist hate-group.
While true in the onset/theory, counter culture groups once established are just as much an "order" as the one they are trying to reject. That's why they have a stereotypical dress, one they have to abide by to be part of the group as well as their entire cultures. Its just as collectivist as the other cultural groups they are trying to define themselves by rejecting. That's a joke so old South Park was doing it in its early days.
That's also why they get so uppity about the common overlap of Nazi Punks in some places, because they aren't approved counter cultures so they must be purged.

In my experience anyway.
They aren't fascists or anarchists, they're literally communists. Their ideology cannot exist without a State violently enforcing it.
