There is rarely anything racist about black/brown/whatever-face in general. We are just supposed to simply accept that is it because it is even if it has no resemblance to the historical version which was quite a bit insulting at times.
Its one of those assumed truths they managed to ingrain in people decades ago.
Some tinpan alley stuff, including Scott Joplin, is patently not offensive, or should not be, and is so fundamental to popular culture (Camptown Races!!), including most famous 20th century Christmas songs, that I would personally say that it is more important than anything “Black culture” has contributed to the US, Canada or beyond in maybe… Two decades. At least…
To throw all that out, for the sake of avoiding “offense”, and to pretend it was some “evil”, morally indefensible thing..?
