Over New Years weekend I was watching tv and there were a lot of Paramount plus ads and one was for the Halo tv series. I bought a microsoft gaming laptop about a year ago and up until then I've only had playstations, so I never played Halo.
The trailer showed two women first and while I never played it, I would have to believe that it is a game that generally appeals to guys. I know in the grand scheme of things it isn't a big deal but this reeks of the whole "we need more women in..." mentality. I guess they will never understand that certain hobbies and genres will always appeal to more men than women and vice versa. You don't see publishers of romance novels saying they need more male representation.
Maybe I'm wrong, but considering the time we live in I would imagine it isn't worth watching. Shouldn't comic books have taught people a lesson? They hire women who hate comic books (when I'm sure there are plenty of women who would do a good job writing) and now look at comic books. DC is making everyone gay for whatever reason. But I hope for the sake of Halo fans that it is a good series.
The Halo TV series is non-canon and is expected to be terrible by those who like the Halo story.
Halo's story is not perfect, but I personally enjoy the stories of most of the games.
Why would they make it non canon?
Adaptation is all about bad writers expressing their own shitty ideas to an audience that would be actively disinterested if not for the IP involved.
You’ve described pretty much every modern day adaptation
Ask 343.
the story is minimalist, and those who want more cna read the novels, compare it to D3 or the outer worlds with in your face and poorly told narratives
Yes, the story is minimalist, and I truly love Halo 1 and Halo 2's stories.
I find Halo 3's and Halo 5's stories incredibly disappointing.
Halo Infinite's story is weird.
