Nostalgia is their main marketing point because of John Wick causing a resurgence of Keanu's career which is also why Bill and Ted 3 was made.
Not that the approach is working for any other franchise that much since it was a similar thing in Star Wars yet they still never reunited the main trio before Carrie died and Ford chequed out, and Ghostbusters feels at times it was only well received because Ghostblusters 2016 wasn't.
