So, anyone read the books and follow the video games. A quick question. Other than names and places...does any of the new woke shitfest follow the original plot? Cause, I'm a fan of the games, and while there's a little bit from them, it's mainly just 'muh diversity' fanfiction with plots they pulled out of their ass.

I can't tell you because I only watched about 5 seconds of one trailer (a skipped advertisment) for this entire show.
I've seen more of the very goofy Polish TV series from 2000 and I also don't recommend it.
The games are non-canon. But they're the reason it's a franchise, instead of just some plagiarised books and their failed very local adaptations (there was also a comic series once). Sapkowski is a megalomaniac prick, so he insisted it was the other way, but he's wrong (and an old grumpy drunkard asshole).
Here's Razorfist's thoughts on the Witcher.
Sapkowski's more fun and genuine when he's being just a straight up Arthurian nerd (relatable to my interests too) instead of pretending to write his own fantasy stories and then hating the fans and the superior adaptation (more like "inspired by").
