Nah, man. It's not "over simplified;" it's actually just overly simple. You are talking yourself in circles because you are wrong and you realized that you are wrong but you got to save face. It doesn't matter though; we're all friends here.
You're kidding right? You are ignoring the cultural and societal context of the telegram and the war because you cannot possibly think anyone has ever had a different thought in their head than the ones you have.

No, you see, tHE CuLturAL ANd soCietaL cONteXt, was it was used as propaganda to get america involved in a war that wasn't to their benefit and was generally disastrous for all involved. My point is MAYBE DON'T FUCKING DO THAT. Maybe adopt a system where that type of propaganda doesn't have a purpose because our policy is TO NOT GET INVOLVED IN CONFLICTS OUTSIDE OUR SOVEREIGN TERRITORY!
