I think most entertainers are simply rootless cosmopolitan globalists. They want access to as many fans and markets as possible. Almost none of them think of themselves as belonging to a country. Look at sports leagues and Hollywood punishing conservative states while selling out to China. These people are just soulless narcissists seeking worship and validation.
Yeah, I agree. I don't think it's really about wanting access to as big of a market as possible, I mean they do, but I don't think it's the main motivation. I think it's what you said at the end, narcissism and validation seeking. Their in-group isn't their countrymen, it's other comedians. (Commiedians? Hehe)
