There is an international mens day? Sounds as dumb as an international woman’s day.
No surprise there, they're both run by the same organization.
Bear in mind that having "ownership" of a "holiday" lets them dictate how much publicity it gets, and how it's celebrated (say, direct the public to hand-picked organizations to support).
