There was a time back in the late 80s and early 90s where the now conventional wisdom didn't exist, of live action adaptations being universally shit.
To be fair, even though the live-action stuff was goofy or cheesy at times, it was at least entertaining and sincere, like Masters of the Universe, The Punisher, and Judge Dredd.
