In NYC, asians have a poverty rate similar, if not greater, to blacks and hispanics. Their population is approximately half of either group (13% vs. 26%). Why do blacks make make up 63% of murder/homicide suspects (26% of pop), hispanics 27% (26% of pop), asians 3% (13% of pop), and whites 6% (33% of pop). Without controlling for poverty rate, whites are the least likely to commit murder; controlling for it, that becomes asians. But with asians jockeying with hispanics for highest poverty rate, why are they massively underrepresented in murder stats?
