The last 19 months have really done a good job helping me take the edge off of my mental state, probably a bit as a survival tactic with the world as it is now. Still, I actually think it's been a good thing for my own health. A constant cycle of hype and disappointment, rage and sadness, etc. can't be a good thing, and the way I see it what goes up must down at some point.
I was pretty much already there with games, though. I realized I wasn't liking new games as much before I realized why even.
