I was thinking of a lot of the people on this list. And specifically this comment from Greg Johnson.

We can't overthrow the current system if we completely marginalize ourselves within it.

We can't overthrow it if we can't travel, for instance.

Conclusion: Get vaccinated and get back in the game.

There are far more important battles for us to fight.

Marginalizing ourselves because of a principled stand on COVID is just another form of Right-wing self-sabotage.

Because at some point in the indeterminate future we're somehow going to "overthrow the system", but before we do we need to take our injections so we can...fly to conferences I guess. Because there's always a "more important battle" (what?) to fight.

There are two heuristics I'm starting to use to determine if someone is not "Dissident Inc":

• Do they provide any specific, actionable proposals for people to organize/build stronger communities that don't involve things that would obviously get you put on an FBI watchlist?
• Do they provide any sort of objective "red line" where they would in fact stand against the Regime?

I don't have to agree with those proposals or red lines because we're all trying to figure this shit out as we go and where we're going keeps changing, but the existence of those two things leads me to believe someone is acting in good-faith.

Watchlist examples:

• Go to an AmRen conference (I lrespect the people like Uncle Jared and Frodi who in the past have put themselves out there, but IMO nothing is gained today by attending a conference and putting a giant target on yourself if you aren't already known in that scene)
• Join a group explicitly labeling itself as a militia
• Any sort of violence against politicians

Examples of Specific, Actionable proposals that don't get you on a watchlist:

• Organize a natural disaster response group with your neighbors to do things like clear fallen trees off of roads, fill sandbags
• Organize backpacking trips with neighbors and their kids to start learning/teaching survival techniques
• Encourage neighborhood kids to play pickup sports games so they learn self-organization
• Organize a neighborhood watch in your community
• Encourage strong leaders to run for local, high-impact offices (eg. County sheriff). IMO this is a longer term goal that should eventually fall out of many of the other activities as you identify and cultivate those strong leaders
