Am I saying some sort of split or, God forbid, a civil war is right around the corner? No, but the way these things start is they happen slowly...and then suddenly everything kicks off all at once. Something could happen tomorrow, or it could happen 5, 10, or more years from now, we don't know. Get out of the blue areas while you can.
If a civil war happens it's not going to be the neat, relatively organized fare of the US Civil War. They usually don't happen like that. If you want to see how they usually go look at Spain. If things go hot you don't want to be a non-leftist in a blue area.
In the past 3 years I've had an neighbor from Bosnia retire, sell his place, and move back to the old country and another friend who survived Kosovo doing something similar and moving to south America as his wife is from Chile. Both told me they are seeing the same signs here they saw back in Yugoslavia in the late 80's.
