Female contestants would consistently vote all the men out of the game. It happened so often it was impossible not to notice it. Eventually, even the host of the show (a woman) would call it out and mock them for resorting to such a strategy.
They do go head to head at the end, and if we make it about that, than that's still a case of women silently, collectively agreeing that they can't beat a man one on one in a quiz show.
