This series of events is almost exactly what killed Digg.com. A bunch of power mods got control over the moderation of the site, and there were tolerated and coordinated voting brigades from LittleGreenFootballs.com. It was so bad that I jumped ship to Reddit, cuz you couldn't participate in a decent conversation. (Note that the karma system worked a bit differently - if you were too low, then your comments wouldn't be seen at all, and a down-vote brigade could completely kill your ability to participate.)
In the case of today's reddit.com, the power mods are there, and the admins are all-in on keeping reddit free from controversy, so it's breathing its last breaths. Too bad, cuz I liked reddit, and I feel, right now, the same way I did just before digg died.
To be honest you left it - it didn’t leave you - it was always here - there’s forums I still hang out in from the “old” Internet before corporate interests started corralling people together
There was a ton of posts in there saying, basically, "I came here because of the blackout thinking it would be filled with a bunch of insane conspiracy theorists, but that wasn't the case."
Seems like every time they pull this, though, more and more people get pissed at reddit...
Wonder if there's a way to weaponize this...

Because their site has become a place just for porn addicts and leftist politics. It used to be an all-purpose forum killer.
I’d like to see the numbers on active unique users
They might care that people get pissed and leave the site for a competitor if the numbers start to add up...
So fun then?

This is the most apt description for the way reddit has been run for the last 5 or so years. The site has gone downhill so quickly, now it's awful.
Bonus points for the 40K reference. Brilliant! XD
These fucking utter god damned fuck-wits think the words "falsifiable statement" means "statements proven false".
All of the tyrants are retards.

I think it was that as well that basically did it in - people were realizing we weren’t crazy
We never were. We just questioned. And in an increasingly authoritarian world, the authoritarians must increase their grip.
Every try to hold a bunch of sand in a tight fist?

no nut november?
They banned that too for antisemitism.
Lol omg seriously? I’m literally not going back to check that site is dead to me now
No New Normal
Nutting Not Normal, too.
That is the funny part.
Admins literally changed the definition of "brigading" to mean this, to assist in the ban.
they banned td for 'threatening police' lmao.
