This series of events is almost exactly what killed Digg.com. A bunch of power mods got control over the moderation of the site, and there were tolerated and coordinated voting brigades from LittleGreenFootballs.com. It was so bad that I jumped ship to Reddit, cuz you couldn't participate in a decent conversation. (Note that the karma system worked a bit differently - if you were too low, then your comments wouldn't be seen at all, and a down-vote brigade could completely kill your ability to participate.)
In the case of today's reddit.com, the power mods are there, and the admins are all-in on keeping reddit free from controversy, so it's breathing its last breaths. Too bad, cuz I liked reddit, and I feel, right now, the same way I did just before digg died.
I'm glad someone else remembers this. Reddit used to be the best place on the internet it was fucking brilliant. Then Digg had its uprising and died and all the filth and fuckups over at Digg migrated to Reddit and it was all downhill from there. History is repeating itself the same fucktards who destroyed Digg are now destroying Reddit.

what if it was THE SAME PEOPLE?....
Wouldn't fucking surprise me in the least. There are legitimately people in the world who see others having a good time, and get jealous.
