I do my best to hear people out and plant the seeds of getting through to them. Not necessarily to believe the things I believe but to at least question obviously false things, like the sum total of leftism is some resistance movement against dark corporate forces that somehow manages to be backed and embraced by nearly all corporate forces. Just trying to get people to at least learn to think better.
Try breaking through the shell of someone who buys into at least part of what's popular in the silicon valley worldview - then it's compounded by a general belief that the leftist worldview is part of the Inevitable Arc of History and you should just get with the program, bigot.
..because all the stats they see prove their point, all the people agree with them, blablabla.. nevermind that most social media has had thorough stifling of dissent and ideological purges. Ugh.
