Maybe for some of them. Gays aren't a monolith just light straights aren't a monolith.
The ones that aren't are properly ashamed of their degeneracy so they deny it and take measures to hide it from the public.
The ones that are public about it are mentally ill narcissists who are obsessed with their fetishes and belong in nuthouses.
Also "straight" is pejorative language meant to create the impression that being normal is just one choice out of many, all of which are equally reasonable. The reality is that there is only normal/natural and degenerate.
Enough of them to destroy society. That's what counts.
