I'm not totally sure I want my TV to have this "feature".

Since these do, by all means shut off the looted TVs though.

Buy 'dumb' tvs, or hook up a monitor to your computer with some wired speakers.

It's becoming rare to find a dumb tv in a real world store. I may have to aim for a computer monitor when my current tv craps out, if I can find one with decent port access. Hopefully "smart" never comes to monitors.

I guess the HDR monitors are kind of "smart"? Proprietary tech to connect to proprietary tech.
