The woman that the God Emperor Leto falls for, she's black
Sincere question, based on what? Because a lot of depictions of her she isn't black.
they cast Jason Momoa
He needs a better agent to get roles beyond "notable character in a book series who dies early on" just like his role as Drogo in A Song of Ice and Fire 🙄
I should also probably mention that Momoa would probably make a great Gurney Halleck, as he was not a small man; or an even better Beast Rabban. But Duncan Idaho is not the size of a doorway.
That's not really a good thing given he was cast with Amber Heard and looks to be walking the company line regarding the ongoing [literal] shitstorm involving her and Depp.
He also massively simped for Dany at the end of GoT [he literally livestreamed his reaction to the finale which involved lots of angry grunts and shouting at what they did to her character] which admittedly was more justified because the series was beyond a clusterfuck in terms of pacing to get to the ending that GRRM supposedly was aiming for in the books too, and overall the ending screwed over multiple characters not just Dany.
The description of Hwi Noree on page 205 of God Emperor of Dune.
"She did have that dark skin, though, the oval face with its regular features. Placid brown eyes stared back at Leto. And where Malky's hair had been grey, hers was a luminous brown."
Also, this might be the biggest part for Momoa, since the rumored plan was to adapt ALL THE BOOKS, and Duncan Idaho is all six.

Maybe. Depending on their pacing though he might have a lot of downtime seeing as how he originally dies early ish in Dune, reappears and dies again in Children of Dune, then his later appearances are sporadic across 3500 years and could be done entirely via a montage before the final story leading up to the bridge and beyond.
That kind of long term casting lock can cause problems for actors at times which outweigh the potential benefits. Look at Kit Harrington when he was Jon Snow in GoT. He was contractually obliged to not cut his hair while the show was ongoing, although they did change his hairstyle slightly in the later seasons. It's a similar problem that resulted in the CGI-tache coverup in Justice League because Henry Cavill was still shooting Mission Impossible at the time.
Momoa isn't likely to change body wise as much as he has since his starts on Baywatch and [from a more geek/nerd PoV] Stargate: Atlantis as Ronon Dex but he's certainly changed his hair significantly at times seeing as how he was wearing a wig [of his own dreads] in the last season of SGA after cutting off his dreadlocks due to the weight they were putting on his head/neck: https://i.redd.it/tlxz7165lsp51.jpg

Wasnt he aquaman after that?
