More importantly, China has a rich history that should be revered. And they have a tradition of being strong allies of the United States, and strong cultural ties to us. If anything, we should reinforce our relationship.

We just have to help them deal with all those rebels in the western part of their country.

Correct. There are no Chinese Communists. Just Communists that identify as Chinese, and then actual Chinese people.

I actually remember hearing a movie review of Kung Fu Panda from China, and the review mentioned she didn't understand how an American movie about a Panda better presented Chinese culture than most of modern Chinese movies.

The answer is: like all Communists, they destroy and erase their heritage; never wanting to look back in pride when the revolution has made so much more progress than earlier regressive eras. That and the authoritarianism of China has slowly eradicated the individual willpower and value that individual Chinese people have. The authoritarianism creates a cultural malaise that no one is interested in changing, but it starts to become a problem for the authoritarians themselves because the people will fight for no one, and cherish nothing. It's actually the same thing that's being deliberately pushed against the west, but it's happening naturally in China.
