I don't agree. It is literally possible but not functionally.
It's a bit like if I ended up finding out women are trying to save us from a worse enemy by taking power (not fucking likely). I'm way too deep to accept that, and I haven't made any permanent changes, I've just lived by certain beliefs for a few years.
Imagine how hard and jarring it would be to admit that people who hate your guts have tricked you into mutilating your body for their approval. There's only two ways to go, and one of them is a fedpost.
There have been people in history who have suffered more and turned out saints. Think of a slave boy turned eunuch by his masters and forced into servitude. Such people have existed, and someone out of them must've not sunk into hatred nor submit to the hand that castrated him.
Such things can happen. They have happened.
