Also in the Harry Potter world: The entire wizarding world can't make their existence known to the normies, because otherwise they'd have to solve the world's problems. The governments are in on this. The normies can't know about wizards, but somehow wizards are able to bang normies and produce wizard offspring, and in some cases two normies can make a wizard. Normies are able to know about magic (Harry's aunt, uncle and cousin) but somehow the secret is never slipped to wider society (Really, Dudley will never post on the internet?) ... all because they don't want to solve the world's problems. It's an entire society based on shirking responsibility. And that's why the left loves it so much.
The same evil guy who fails to kill inept school children because wacky hijinks always happen.
The same school kids who fail to take anything seriously even though there are attempts on their life every year.
Etc.
It's not even getting into the terrible world building, lack of depth to most characters, massive plot holes (hey, let's give you the ability to create extra time and never reference it again), etc
...And they can TIME TRAVEL, and there's TELEPORTATION. I'm starting to think the earlier books were better stories because all these world-breaking stuff was stuck within the confines of a single high school.

I think you missed the "fictional" part.

It's scooby doo, but in longform.
Man...if you want to go down the problems in Harry Potter, there's a ton.
They're okay kids books, in the sense of they're fun reading and have characters that kids can resonate with.
But plot wise, and everything else? Absolute garbage.
At most, it turns into young adult cringe. But it never got beyond that.
The thing is it could have been much better... If literally everything about it was different.

Additionally: medieval technology except for toilets. Like, why bother with plumbing if you could literally make your shit disappear?
The only thing I ever liked about the setting was that it shows exactly why everyone needs to own guns and form militias
