Earlier in the year I jokingly told a friend that soon we'll be "encouraged" to get regular vaccine shots in the same way Windows that nags you to install Windows Updates and reboots your PC against your will at the most opportune times.
Though like TheImpossible1 says, it looks like they're aiming more for the videogame "Software-as-a-Service" model instead.

Eh, my piece of shit Mac does the same thing, sadly, lol... As does my IPhone, so... Apple is at least as bad, sadly, lol...
They're all the same shit, just different stripes of it. :-/
I believe Macs have an easy setting to turn off system updates, or configure it to download but not automatically install them.
In Windows you can "Delay update for 7 days" or install a third party tool that might stop working after the next update.
My PC rebooted itself in the middle of playing Fallout 4 when I hadn't saved for like an hour. Almost put my fist through the monitor.
Apparently the first time I clicked update and shut down wasn't good enough for gates.
