I'll at least agree on pre-cancellation Family Guy. That doesn't mean the trend of 'lol wacky cut away gags' isn't terrible.

I kinda liked those. Their biggest problem was that sometimes, they just keep going. Going on about twice as long as they should have.

They're like sugar, it's nice, but there's no nutrition. You need actual storytelling, but's it's been replaced by random throwaway jokes.
