The paradox, or maybe not so much of a paradox, is that first generation immigrants from almost any country (save Islamic ones) will likely be very much enamoured with the country in which they settle, while their misbegotten kids will grow up with Western decadence and 'education', and they will end up hating the place that gave them a far better life than their parents left.
That's only true if you make sure the first generation immigrants are decent. The Democrat's support for illegal immigration ensures you get scum right from the start.
I'm pretty sure Grumman is pointing out that the first generation doesn't have to be "enamored" with their new country. Yes, we do have experience with that in Europe, that's for sure.
The solution there is to set things up so theres no advantage in hating your host country. Whining about whitey makes money. When that well dries up, things will get better.

Judging by our experience in Europe, that does not help much.
They can be as decent as it gets, and their children will often be quite bad.
