I'll actually agree with you. I think most Fabian Socialists are people who are in industries expected to make a ton of money, but are seeing it all hit a wall. They're trying to protect their jobs while dealing with prices and debts based on the idea that it all makes money.
And that's where I disagree with you. The lockdowns made those Fabians millions. They're not just trying to protect their jobs. They want to become the world's first trillionaires.

Just had a discussion with a friend and was reminded about this. The occupy movement had corporate sponsors, and it looked like they were aiming at competition. I suspect a lot of these guys are trying the same tactics, but it's not working.
One of the weirdest things during the occupy movement was how much they tried to stop people from taking pictures of their food trucks for protestors. They were handing out food to whoever was in the area. It's why so many people stayed.
