Shall we take some time to look away from the dumpster fire of modernity and embrace our roots with a bit of vidya discussion? I’d love to have some recommendations of what’s good, and I’m sure others would as well.
I honestly probably already have enough games, but it’s hard to turn down a good sale. So tell me, what should I keep an eye out for?
I'll always shill Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight really didn't do much for me. It's clearly a very well put together game, both mechanically and artistically but something about it just utterly failed to hook me.
Same. I think the downer atmosphere just turned me off of it.
Maybe that was it. World's gloomy enough already and subconsciously I just rejected more gloom in my recreational time.
Out of curiosity, how far did you get? The game was pretty mild for me until after the first boss in Greenpath where it began to pick up steam. By the time I beat the Mantis Lords, I was hooked 100%
I don't even recall at this point. I think I was two or three maps deep but I don't know. None of it really stuck with me.
The whole time I played hollow knight I was just bummed that they chose to build this otherwise awesome world and lore around bugs
Have it. Wonderful game all around
